woah! i thought they showed the doctors while playing this.
@lasaboteuse In retrospect I realize that was a stupid question. He’s singing in an arena accompanied by an orchestra, of course he has a mic. Please ignore.
Does Chambers have a mic or is that just…projecting?
@Muzikman127 I’m not sure if he’s actually a falsetto. A few parts seemed to be falsetto, and if all of it was then he has an amazing range. But being a counter-tenor I think that’s possible anyway.
I thought Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker got a fair amount of applause. There’s a lot of fans out there that watched it then and Pertwee and Tom Baker were “their” Doctors.
@psxwarrior – I had a joke, saying that a bunch of pedophiles were going to come with police boxes and pretend to crash in kid’s backyards to snatch them. Yeah, I’m the Doctor. That’s wrong, but oh well.
@buffykidd1971 i saw the other video and noticed that there weren’t the applause for the other Doctors. Thanks for clarifying.
@Unit06JAW – Nah, they just removed them. LOL
@BritishAlienCompany
Well, Each Doctor has a certain favoritism. Obviously Tennant is the most popular with the most applause. Smith got the second most loudest applause, cause obviously he’s the current Doctor.
@saskabush2006 the reason you cant see the all the doctors regeneration montage is because that was filmed at prom 10. this is from prom 11 where the montage for this is gallifrey didnt work
the end of the montage then kicked in when vale decem started
Sorry what I meant is that I was surprised they didn’t have a DT montage during the “this is gallifrey: our childhood, our home” section. If I were to pick a song to represent DT time as the doctor it would be that one.
Sorry for the inadequate specificity of my comment… :S
@kupright Huh? The whole last part of the song was a reprise of the regeneration. Tennant got more screen time than any of the other Doctors, and except for a little extra for Hartnell they just showed the regenerations.For some reason, however, the flashback clips aren’t viewable from this handycam recording. They’re in the BBC broadcast, though.
@CybermeN100 Yes.
i love how you can chart the amount of love for each doctor by the applause!
xx
Did they really not flash back to David tennants years at all during this song? If so,
I think that was a mistake. Just as you would try to make the transition as smooth as possible in the show I would have thought they would try to make the musical transition seamless too…
@HelterSkelterForum was that the guy who was doing the high parts of vale decem
@Unit06JAW no actually. It’s just falsetto. Think thom yorke style singing plus years and years of classical training and practice. That’s why it sounds kind of different to a woman’s voice even though it’s real high. Amazing isn’t it…
That guy is amazing! I have to admit in my naivity i didn’t think it was a man….but he is amazing!!!!!!
beautiful song,
and voice :’)
Mark Chambers is a truly outstanding guy. :’)
this must have been sunday as the video didn’t work until you got to Chris ecleston…
I love the way the Doctor popped his head up at the end of the song! Brilliant way to end it.
Mark Chambers was outstanding.
